Kainz creates art and raises her family in Montana. The Big Sky inspires paintings and expands the boundaries of her sculptural work. Alongside her rigorous and routine studio practice, she works on commission for clients across the nation.

While studying art at SIU, Carbondale and Curtain University in Western Australia, Kirsten worked with many mediums including ceramics, glass blowing, bronze casting, architectural ironwork, etc. but working with metal stole her heart. She graduated with a BFA in metalsmithing.

Her award-winning paintings and sculptures are featured in public and private collections.
